For more than 25 years, Coronado Academy of Dance has been a second home to dancers across our community. We believe every child deserves training that is technically excellent and coaching from the heart – a place where confidence blooms alongside perfect port de bras.
A stylized technique-based class that emphasizes musicality and personality. Jazz dance will study rhythm, coordination, strength, flexibility, and isolation of movement; all while learning fun and challenging combinations and dance routines.
This class is high energy and fun for anyone. Hip Hop is a style of fast and fluid movements, It borrows elements from a number of different styles like Ballet, Contemporary and African Dance. Hip Hop is danced to music with strong beats and will be great for anyone wanting to improve their rhythm, coordination and overall dancing skills with fun combinations and dance routines.
Technique based on body alignment, proper placement, and posture. Barre and center floor work are utilized to teach musicality, rhythm, coordination and flexibility. Ballet class will help you in all styles of dance and is recommended to everyone as a supplement class. Pointe classes are only offered to students 10+ with strong ballet technique and ballet training. Must be taking two ballet classes a week.

Not to worry. We have arranged our dance programs by age as well as skill level. Our instructors will help your dancer develop the proper techniques regardless of age or experience.
For dancers ages 3 – 4, we offer combination classes (ballet/tap, ballet/hip hop, ect. ). Starting at 5+ years old, you may choose specific classes based on age, experience, and teacher recommendation.
Yes. We accept enrollments all year long, any time of the month (first month tuition is pro-rated from your start date ). After April 1st, it is at the instructor’s discretion whether or not a late enrolled dancer may participate in the Spring recital based on dancer’s ability to learn and rehearse the choreography. Enrollments are still accepted after April 1st in either case.
Whether your child has been introduced to a new skill in class that they would like to master, or whether they would like to refine a technique already attained, a private lesson can do wonders for a dancer! Students can schedule a solo lesson with an available instructor throughout the season.
Let us host your tiny dancers birthday! Each party includes a brief ballet class with lots of movement and games. We’ll host a delicious cupcake picnic and delightful party favors, Fancy tutus are provided and tiaras for dancers to decorate and keep! Take the stress out of planning – simply show up and enjoy the magic!
